We have all been in situations where we are distracted, thinking of too many things while we are leaving our car to head into an appointment or the grocery store to quick grab something. And so it happens, you come back to your car only to realize, "I've locked my keys in the car!"
Before you panic, remember the phrase, "try it before you pry it." This means you try the obvious solutions before you work your way out to the more difficult ones. Try opening every door, and even the trunk. If the trunk opens, you can sometimes lower the seats in the back to enter the car that way. If these options fail and you have a child or a pet in the car on a hot day, it's best to call 911 to get help immediately. However, if this is not the case there are a few things you can try, being sure to work from easiest and most obvious, to more difficult. If you've eliminated the "try it before you pry it" and you find that all doors are locked, call a family member or friend who may have access to a spare key. This will save you money on calling a locksmith.
